CAT 8
After checking the computer
I returned to where Cat was sitting.
It was just email for some pills to help my love life and
a request for more money, from that prince who is trying to get his money out of his country
and I am going to make a bit of money.
It's all hush, hush.
"Cat are you sure you never talk to anyone but me?" I ask.
Ignoring me the Cat returns to her story.
"I wonder on the intrigue of such an idea. A device causing all humans around it to feel foolishly safe.
The opposite of it's original invention, to bring terror and confusion to any enemy without training or better yet,
knowledge of it."
Well, she explains all the possible explanations to me.
Excluding the possibility that he put it on himself, because the effects of the device left on constantly
impair the subject's judgment, and insight into himself.
But that would explain the Hummer, she says.
"On a governor, we'll be led into disaster.
On a president destruction.
It creates a distortion in the subject's illusion of self.
He didn't put it on himself.
Only an enemy would do this. For what purpose? And the device itself, out of time.
It didn't make sense."
I tell her if I had that device I would put it on and become a famous Hollywood actor
and everyone will love me.
Buy a big mansion and have parties every night.
Of course I would donate to charities and do plenty of good things.
There is that blank look again.
She continues as if quoting an oath.
"I was a Rider when I met my end on that planet.
So I am still a commissioned officer of the Riders, born in space, on a mission to protect my mother universe.
Never seeing the planet of my ancestors and with only the remotest possibility of my offspring ever returning.
The universe is my mother I must protect her and tend to her needs.
So it is my duty to protect my position
under any circumstances and with whatever means."
She sits with complete cat awareness,
eyes as sharp as two lasers, straight and at attention.
You know, Cat you got to learn to chill sometimes, I tell her.
"Nip and a movie, sounds nice." She says.
Tell me about the desert. What was that like?
When you were in that delirious state you said the earth was talking and something,.......
about...........the creatures.........secret army.
Animals, insects, fish, trees, rivers................. everything.
"Let me tell you as it happened, Human. Because instead of you,
danger was my only companion."
She goes on how the device must have been put on the Gov by an enemy.
But, to what purpose? California was being attacked? By whom, Arizona?
No, this can only be an outside attack, Earth was ripe for the picking, everyone fighting, and prophecies of a return
of some rescuer. Not realizing all along the rescue was in themselves.
Like the Aztecs before Cortez, history repeats itself, she said as she giggled and then grew dark and worried.
"Then, I didn't know the time or place of my death as a Rider relative to now.
So I wasn't sure if a patrol was nearby or if they even existed at this time." she purrs.
She runs over to the window and looks out into space and breaths in deep, unusual for a cat.
I know what she's doing, she's reliving some of her various lives,
looking for clues.
I'll bet she did that a lot on her adventure.
Well...........while she's staring and contemplating.
I returned to cutting my hair. Which is very hard to do without an extra mirror.
I'm not so sure of the back but the front looks good.
Hmm.......except for that one...side...
