Edward Samaniego is the grandson of pottery maker Mary Cain and son of potterer Joy Cain{Santa Clara Pueblo, New Mexico} who taught him his artwork of pottery since 1977. He is featured in several books including "Fourteen Families in Pueblo Pottery" by Rick Dillengham {page 218}. He also paints artworks in acrylic and oils. Edward credits his uncle for giving him the inspiration to be an artist in paintings by watching him create his artworks while growing up when he had opportunity to visit him.
